MBABANE – It was a ‘family affair’ at this year’s Believe Begin Become business plan competition as the overall winner and runner-up are siblings.

The overall winner, Mduduzi Dludlu is a younger brother to runner-up Happiness Mkhatjwa nee Dludlu.

The two came tops in the Business Plan Competition (BPC) hosted by TechnoServe, wher Mduduzi scooped the grand prize, which is E150 000 seed capital and business development courses valued at E30 000.

Glamorous

The winners were announced at a glamorous occasion held at House on Fire about a week ago.

Dludlu said he was excited when his sister’s name was called out as a runner up.

“I comforted myself with the fact that at least she has made our family proud by being in the top six yet little did I know that I would be the overall winner,” he said.

He explained that when his name was eventually called out, he never believed his luck, adding that he could hardly walk to the stage to get his prize money.

“I felt weak and just could not believe it. However, I am equally happy for my sister, we have made our family really proud. I was hoping for one of us to win,” said Dludlu.

His business plan entails the production of goat milk, manufacturing of cheese, yoghurt and other dairy related products, while his sister is into the services sector.

Mkhatjwa, on the other hand, will receive E75 000 seed capital for making it to the top six and an extra E300 000 business development course for making it to the top 21.
