The E150 000 grand prize seed capital was won by Mduduzi Dludlu who outclassed 20 other finalists in coming up with a comprehensive and realistic business plan.
Five other finalists were awarded as runners-up and category winners, each receiving E75 000 for establishing their businesses.
These are Christopher Warburg, Happiness Mkhatshwa, Sifiso Simelane, Muzi Mkhonta and Nkosinathi Dlamini.
Two of the finalists who never made it to the top six, when interviewed said the top six winners deserved the prizes.
Deserved
Mxolisi Dlamini said he was happy for the winners and they deserved the prizes.
“I also made an effort to get here, so I congratulate myself for being in the top 21,” he said.
Celucolo Manana said he had no hard feelings about the whole competition, stating that it was fair and the winners deserved to be awarded.
“After all, in any competition, there is always one winner,” added Manana.
He said he was grateful to have been given the opportunity to participate in the competition and that the E30 000 prize money would go a long way in helping him set up his business.
He is in the service business.
The overall winner, Mduduzi Dludlu is in agribusiness.
