The application will be available starting 25th January, 2007. The application can be accessed on the Believe Begin Become web site ( www.believe-begin-become.com), at all TechnoServe offices in Ghana (Accra, Atebubu, Bolgatanga, Tamale, Wa), and at the following partner institutions:National Board for Small Scale Industries(NBSSI),ADRA, World Vision,Methodist University College, Pentecost University College,KNUST(Tech),University of Cape Coast and University of Ghana Business Schools, Kumasi, Takoradi, Koforidua and Bolgatanga Polytechnics.
Applicants must complete and submit an official application form by 5:00 p.m. on 23rd March, 2007.
The application includes demographic and business information, a three-page business concept statement, the participation agreement, and a non-refundable application fee of ¢100,000.
The description of the business expansion or idea must conform to the guidelines detailed on the application form, or the application will not be evaluated. Thus, the Business concept Statement must not exceed 3 type-written, double-spaced pages with 1 inch margins, and must be in 12 point font. Anything that does not match these requirements will not be read, and the application will therefore be ineligible. Applications must be made in English. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted.
Applications will be accepted at the TechnoServe main office in Accra and at all of the TechnoServe offices in Ghana (Atebubu, Bolgatenga, Tamale, Wa). Proof of payment of the application fee in the form of a TechnoServe issued receipt must accompany applications submitted at TechnoServe offices.
Applications may also be submitted online through the website. In this case application fees can be paid at any branch of Ghana Commercial Bank. Make your deposit into account #1261130003645 and be sure the bank teller records your first, middle and surnames and date of birth on your deposit slip and in their computer system. Proof of payment for fees paid at a Ghana Commercial Bank must be faxed in to the TechnoServe Accra office. The signed participation agreement must also be faxed in to the TechnoServe Accra office for online submissions. Applications that arrive without proof of payment and participation agreement will be held until these documents arrive and can be matched with the application.
Applications may also be mailed or couriered to the TechnoServe Accra office. In this case the application must arrive by the application period deadline along with the signed participation agreement and proof of payment of the application fee into the GCB account (in the form of a deposit receipt).
Submissions will be closed at 5:00 pm on 23rd March 2007. Submissions made by this deadline to regional TechnoServe offices will be couriered to Accra immediately after the deadline. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
The content of all submitted ideas must be the original work of the participating individual or group. All participants must follow the established rules for the competition set forth in this document. |
